Stephen's Inks

One of the oldest Ink bottle and pot makers was Stephen's Inks

They made the originals Inks in ceramic pots

In the old days if you wanted to send a parcel you would use a
brown paper and glue. Stephen´s made a special white ceramic
dish with a rubber cylinder were the sticky brown paper was
rolled over to make it wet to use on the parcels.

This is a rare item to find, and was made c1910

Dip Pen Nibs

For the oldest ones, what a nightmare!
Always scratching, making big blots on our notebooks, never
working properly when needed and making our fingers stained
with blue ink!
For the youngest, if they know, just oldies and not goodies.
For me and all fellow collectors, they are precious these little
pieces of metal with all kind of shapes, colour, sizes, with
embossed portraits of famous writers, poets, leaders or kings
or with embossed flowers, animals or trains! It can also be
some filigree of metal showing the incredible know-how of
nibs’ manufacturers in the 19th century.
